We congratulate Stan

After an enormous performance by Stan Wawrinka, he wins in Paris 7:6 / 6:1 / 6:1 against a powerless Federer.

After the first set was very balanced and Stan was able to win the tiebreak by a narrow margin, everyone expected a reaction from the maestro. Surprisingly, there was no reaction and Stan was able to win his first Grand Slam title with a brilliant performance.

We talked to Stan after his first triumph in Paris

Fedal Media Group AG: How did you celebrate your victory?

Stand: After I received great congratulations from many people, I was allowed to spend a great evening with my close friends, and of course there was some partying.

Fedal Media Group AG: How do you continue after you have reached one of your big goals?

Stan: Of course I’m very happy how everything went, especially I’m proud how well I played in the final, I think the score speaks for itself. But I said early on that one of my first big goals is the Channel Slam. I am now 100% focused on Wimbledon and I really want to win there. I think Federer is still the favourite. But I’m not looking that far yet, because the semi-final is first up against Rafael Nadal, who is playing very strongly at the moment and who recently made a very good impression with some wins over some very strong players.
