It was a real hot atmosphere in New York this Sunday afternoon. Both players were really nervous during the first set. Federer took the lead over Nadal with 4:1, but the spaniard came back to 4:3 before Federer could serve it all out. In the second set they reached the toplevel of their game, but unlucky an accident happened where Federer run into Nadal. Obviously Nadal was hurt by the incident, but finished the second set without any big troubles. Federer won it also by 6 games to 3. The spaniard added to the accident the following words: «It was an unlucky accident and nobody has the sault for it. But I was hurt bad after it. I didn’t feel it in an instant, because of my adrenalin rush. But in the third set after the adrenalin level dropped, I barely could move and had a strong pain in my leg.» However it was Federer, who decided to make a proposal to the player council. «I’m feeling sorry for Rafa and also for Stan, because something like this already took place in London. It is not my aim and I don’t want to win like this. But from now on if there is a crash between two players, both of them need to give there okay to play on, otherwhise there will be a rematch with the last score. And that’s all I’m looking for.» Federer wins his 9th Grand Slam title and he will be the year end’s number one for the third time in a row. The highroller from Switzerland gave us his thoughts on this: «I invested a lot over the past few months to reach my dreams and it certainly coasts me a lot of energy to keep pushing me forward. I am really proud on my achievements today and I feel that I have the fire to chasing down all the records and pushing me to higher limits. Thanks to Stan and Rafa, because they give me a lot of inspiration to work hard for myself everyday.»
